The Custom Build Process
Plans and Land Review
We’ll talk through your goals, lifestyle needs, and wish list for your home
Review your land, building site, and general feasibility
We will need a complete set of floor plans to put together a bid for your job. You can work with your own draftsman to have these drawn, we can recommend a draftsman, or you are welcome to choose from our existing floor plans.
Review proposed bid and sign a contract with Ridgewood to build your home
2. Pre Construction Planning
Meet with our entire team to review your final plans & kick off your build
Onboard into your Buildertrend portal for personalized access to your Job Budget, Selections, Communication, Job Schedule, and more!
Meet with our Selections Coordinator to begin the Selections Process
3. Construction Begins
Your designated Field Superintendent runs the jobsite
The Selections Coordinator will continue to work with you throughout the build as you make design choices for your home. She will work to help keep you in your desired budget and handle all ordering and facilitating with vendors.
Subcontractors are coordinated and work is inspected for quality
You will have open communication with your field superintendent and will get consistent updates as milestones are completed, as well as have unlimited access to your Buildertrend portal for instant info at any time.
4. Walkthroughs and Quality Checks
Review progress at key phases
Punch list and detail checks to ensure everything is right
Final touches and deep attention to finish work
5. Closing and Welcome Home
Final walkthrough and homeowner orientation

Yes! Whether you own a lot in a neighborhood or have acreage around town, we would love to work with you to build your home.

If we are building on your land, you (the homeowner) will carry the construction loan. We will go over this in detail, but in short, we would turn in draw requests at various stages of the build.
